I have never heard of the Goon until the figures
Picked up a set of Goon figures (but no Franky [img]frown.gif[/img] ) at Suncoast this morning!
These figures are just great!
Kinda weird that after a rather uneventful toy year (for me) both the comic Hellboy & the Goon show up so close to each other....
& I hear the new Spawn line is starting to show...........
& I still gotta pick up those 4 Godzilla figures I saw.........
& Where's my (Jeepers) Creeper !?!? anyway..........
Also picked up a few Dark Castle flicks on DVD that I've been meaning to get & one more Hellraiser
all this & still to early to hit the Gin Mill!

A brief history of the Goon-
The Goon is an off the wall, Zombie stomping comic by Eric Powell.
It started off as a 3 issue b&w mini series at Avatar Press in (I believe) 1999.
Next we saw The Goon in a short story in the final issue of Dark Horse Presents.
Eric then tried self publishing (in 2002) with Albatrose Exploding Comics which gave us 4 new b&w issues & a color special-
In 2003, The Goon found a brandy new happy home at Dark Horse comics
where he's up to issue #14 (in color!)
Next week there'll be a .25 cent issue of The Goon on the stands, btw
The Goon was a 2005 Eisner nominee for Best Single Issue (or One-shot), Best Continuing Series, Best Humor Publication, and Best Writer/Artist Humor.

...whoa! This was a disappointing thread...considering I read that "G" as a "P"...
I don't think I've seen any Poon comics since '72.........
Unless Last Gasp is reprinting them [img]confused.gif[/img]
i just went back to suncoast to grab the other 3, but sadly it looks like the store only ordered 1 set of figures. all they had left was 1 of each goons so i got the "mean" one. i guess some guy got there a bit before me and got the other 3, the manager said he was pissed cause they didn't get a frankie in the case, they did get one but i was there the night before as they were closing and grabbed Frankie from the case as they unpacked [img]biggrin.gif[/img]
